Is Demo Gambling Rigged?

The gambling industry is lucrative. It is also a very competitive industry. Many online casino will try its best to lure gamblers with attractive offers and promotions.

Many online casino also offer the gamblers the chance to play using a demo account. The purpose is to allow the gambler to familiarise with the interface and also learn about the casino games. We assume that the demo version will operate the same as real account. But is this true?

There is no evidence to suggest that gambling demo version is rigged. But it is not difficult to imagine that the demo version could be rigged in the player's favor. Reason being if the player finds that he wins alot, then this will encourage him to convert to gambling with real money.

When a player wins more often at a certain online casino, then the loyalty towards this online casino could be built. So there is basis for assuming maybe the demo gambling account could be rigged in the player's favor.

Betting Systems - Paroli

The betting system Paroli is a reverse of Martingale. In a Martingale, you bet more as you lose until you win. In Paroli, you bet more when you win, until you reach your defined target and then you start all over again.

Consider a Paroli betting systems of 1-2-3-6.
- where you bet 1 on the first hand. If you lose, you start again by betting 1.
- if you win the first hand, then you bet the second hand with 2. If you lose, you start again.
- if you win the second hand, then you bet the third hand with 3. If you lose, you start again.
- if you win the third hand, then you bet the fourth hand with 6. If you lose, you start again.

Here's the results of your win or losses.
- if you lose the first hand, you lose 1.
- if you lose the second hand, you lose 1.
- if you lose the third hand, you breakeven.
- if you lose the fourth hand, you breakeven.
- if you win the fourth hand, you win 12.

With the Paroli betting system you will have to endure many small losses before you eventually hit the winning streak. And even when the winning streak comes, some gamblers will find it difficult to bet a large amount on the final hand, and thus chose to bet small on the last hand.

The expected return from a Paroli betting strategy is zero (if there is no house edge). In reality all casino games have a house edge and so the expected returns become negative.

Betting Systems - Martingale

Martingale system is a betting system where you double your bet when you lose. And when you do win, then you would recover all your previous losses and end up with a winning equal to your initial bet. Alot of people like Martingale because it is easy to understand and it gives them a sense of "winning" because the gambler usually end up winning in the beginning before losing everything at the end. This betting systems sound appealing except that in real life it does not work so well due to the following reasons.

There is always a betting limit. The casino and bookmaker will have a maximum limit you can bet on. So... if you run into a string of losses, and you hit the betting limit, then you cannot double the bet anymore.

More often instead of hitting the betting limit, the gamblers lose all their money first in a string of losses. Long streaks of losses is common. A gambler who prepares a capital anticipating a losing streak of maximum 5 hands will be surprised that he is out of funds very fast.

If the Martingale systems really can let you win consistently, then this would mean the casino is losing money consistently. Do you think the casino would let this happen? Of course not. If Martingale really works, then the casino would have banned this betting systems. The fact that the casinos allow this betting systems mean that Martingale does not work. In fact, Martingale more often makes the gambler lose their capital. This means that with a Martingale systems, the casino will win consistently.

If you do happen to win money by using Martingale systems, then it is more so because of your luck, rather than because of the Martingale systems.
